Visitation for Stella Gertrude (Jordan) Leighty, 89, will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel. Service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Leighty, who was born in Johnson, Kan., died Wednesday.
She graduated from high school in Johnson and in 1933 married Kenneth Leighty.
The couple lived in Kansas until moving to Flagler, Colo., in 1945 and to Hayden the following year.
A member of Hayden Friends Church, she taught Sunday school and was involved in Bible study. She also was a member of the Holiday Extension Club. She enjoyed crafts and sewing.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Robert Leighty of Butte, Mont.; six daughters, Lois Schmidt of Hayden, Lela Stephenson of Haslett, Mich., Hazel Gilman of Wapato, Wash., Jean Kelley of Bothell, Wash., Bonnie Taie of Baker City, Ore., and Betty Walker of Post Falls; a brother, Fred Jordan of Independence, Kan.; two sisters, Martha Railsback of Parsons, Kan., and Fred Abernathy of Calimesa, Calif.; 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
