In 1905, her parents and two brothers moved to McDonald. In 1919, her father purchased land in Stanton County and moved the family to Johnson City. Emma graduated from Johnson High School in 1923 and taught school for a year before marrying Forrest "Foxy" Walker in 1924. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1961. Mrs. Walker was very involved in her community. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Progressive Club, Mother's Club, Jolly Dozens Club and Rebekah's Lodge. She also enjoyed the many activities at the Senior Center. But with all of her many activities, the ones she enjoyed the most were those spent with her many grandchildren. She never missed a sporting event or school play they were involved in. To her, they were the sunshine of her life. She was survived by one son, Forrest Lavere Walker of Johnson City; four grandsons; one granddaughter; one grand daughter-in-law; 11 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Majorie May Whittington; two brothers Royce and Kirk; and a sister, Gale.
