Events	Melba Fern Garey, 81, of Johnson City, died Friday, June 22, 2012, at Memorial Living Center in Johnson City. She was born July 3, 1930, in Medford, Okla., to Claude W. and Vera Gladys Hodges Collins. She graduated from Johnson High School. A farm wife, Mrs. Garey worked as a bookkeeper for the Co-op and Collingwood Grain in Big Bow. On May 21, 1950, she married Melvin Ray Garey in Garden City. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Alan Garey of Lawton, Okla.; two daughters, Linda Nicholas of Johnson City, and Rita Garey of Garden City; a brother, Lee Collins of Cimarron; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, Johnson City. Burial will follow at Stanton County Cemetery, Johnson City. Visitation hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home, Johnson City.
