Melanie Isabelle "Mama Bear" Holsing, 35, of Dunbar, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022 in her home.
She was born August 16, 1986 to John Lee Blevins Jr. and Helen Isabelle (Marquardt) Blevins in Garden City, Kansas.
Melanie worked in home health as a CNA. She was always taking care of anyone that needed help, thus earning her the nickname of "Mama Bear". She loved her work and she loved her family. She thoroughly enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, shopping, sunflowers and bees.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Erik W. Holsing, whom she married on November 18, 2017; her children, Kenyon, Maverick, Jozelyn, Bobbi-Larae, Destiny (Tim), Bobby (Caitlin), Preston and Erik II (Sheyann); her grandchildren, Brandon, Lamya, Ryker, Isaiah, Malachi, Erik III, Alexander, Ryder, Aliyah and Grayson; siblings, Amanda (Sam), Janzen (Sierra), Alyssa and Stephanie; grandfather, John Lee Blevins Sr.; godchildren, Christel, Jaxon and Sapphira; brother-in-law, Robert (Tammy) Brooks, sister-in-law, Nancy Brooks; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, David Brooks.
Friends will be received at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, PA, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., the hour of service with Pastor Travis Edgar officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions suggested to the Melanie I. Holsing Memorial Fund, care of Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home.
