Events | Randall Ray Shore, 47, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006 at his home in rural Stanton County. He was born March 21, 1958 to Eugene and Janet Raney Shore at Ulysses. He married Starla Dawn Bitner on September 23, 1983 at Lamar. She survives. He was a lifelong resident of Stanton County where he was a farmer and rancher. He graduated from Johnson High School and Panhandle State University with a degree in Agronomy. He also attended Mid-America Nazarene University and Kansas State University. He loved working and flying airplanes. He soloed on his 16th birthday and at the time of his death he was building a homebuilt aero duster in his shop. He was a member of the Bethal Church of the Nazarene, NRA, Experimental Aircraft Association, Ducks Unlimited, and Pheasants forever. He was a former teen officer in Kansas and International Flying Farmers and was Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers of the year. He was a 4-H member and later a project leader for Stanton County Youth. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, flying and family get together. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Ione Shore and Ted and Edith Raney. The funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church, Johnson with the Rev. Bob Warner presiding. Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery, Johnson. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home, Johnson.
