Events	Services for Patricia Evelyn Pati Mendoza are set for 10:00 a.m., Mon., July 23, 2012 in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service. She will be laid to rest at Sageeyah Cemetery following the service. Friends may visit at the funeral home from noon to 5:00 on Sunday. Pati passed away on Tues., July 17, 2012 at the age of 62. Born in Johnson City, Kan. on Sept. 16, 1949 to Morris and Rena (Warren) Cartwright, Pati was a 1967 graduate of Stanton County Community High School. With some college under her belt, Pati decided to become a beautician. She completed the required coursework, obtained her license and began a career making the world a more beautiful place. On June 7, 1968, Pati and Doyle Cox married and became the parents of two children. An exceptional woman, Pati spread sunshine all along her way, singing, gardening or volunteering as a grocery shopper/chauffeur for elderly folks who couldn t get around on their own. She earned the nickname Mother Teresa. With hard work and diligence she proved the truth of her favorite saying, Where there s a will, there s a way. A doting grandmother, Grandma Pati delighted in spending time with her grandchildren. She spent hours producing fashion shows, took them bowling, fishing, and on special trips. Loving, generous and devoted, Pati is survived by her children, Casey Cox of Tulsa and Wendy Williams and husband,Travis, of Copan, OK; her mother, Rena M. Cartwright of Johnson City, KS; her companion, Robby McGuire of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren Kailey, Nikki, and Brighton Cox, and Winter and Tatum Williams; great grandchild Hayden; her sisters, Doris VanSlyke and husband, David, of Halstead Kansas, Kathy Cockreham and husband, Walter, of Wichita, KS, Lynda Haley and husband Bud of Claremore, OK, Mary Buckley and husband, Randy of Garden City, KS; her brother James Cartwright and wife, Polly of Johnson City, KS; special friends Cliff and Linda Townsend of Kinsely, KS; and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, her brother Morris Elmer Cartwright, her niece Lisa Morrison and brother in-law Coy D. Leming.
