| Events | Jon Orvan Josserand, 62, passed away May 23, 2017 at his Lawrence, KS home. The son of Emery F. and Harriet Josserand, Jon grew up in Johnson, KS, a member and valedictorian of the Class of 1972 at Stanton County High School. Jon attended the University of Kansas, earning a 1976 Bachelor's Degree in Business and a 1979 Juris Doctorate. His career in public service included 8 years in the Kansas Secretary of State's office and 18 years as an assistant to the Chancellor at KU. Jon also was very active in the Lawrence community. Survivors include his uncle O.W. Josserand; siblings Emery L. (Linda) Josserand, Jeri Buchholz, Linda Josserand, Jodell Josserand, and Lance Josserand; nieces Carrie Josserand and Amanda Buchholz and nephew Nathan Buchholz; three great-nieces and two great-nephews, and many cousins. Also surviving is his beloved dog Parker. A celebration of Jon's life will be held July 8th at 2PM in the KU Alumni Center, 1266 Oread Ave in Lawrence, KS. One in Johnson KS will be at a later date.
