Ray was born August 17, 1935 in Longton, Kansas to Howard and Iva Hurst. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 17, 2009. He died at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Ray loved hard work, construction, the outdoors, hunting, fishing and his cabins. He loved sunsets and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved Roswell Community church in which he was a member. He was the owner and operator of Professional Caulking, Hurst Insulation, Happy Faces Childcare and Daylight Donuts. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marlene Ann Hurst, his brother Roger (Delomia), his eight children, Raymond (Glenna) Hurst, Richard Hurst, Shirley Ray Hurst, Lori Valadez, Tammie Renee Beardsley, Michael Ray (Tammy) Hurst, Diana Lynn (Jim) Yingling, Terry (Jerry) Haggerman; 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Karla Kaye, son, Kenneth E. Tuggle, and grandson, Zeeke Hurst. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite cancer society or Roswell Community Church Building Fund in which Ray was a member of the board. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2009 from 5:00PM-8:00PM at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Avenue. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 23, 2009, 10:00AM at Roswell Community Church, 2728 Beacon Street with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
