Randall E. Nichols, 63, died Oct. 16, 2014, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 11, 1950, in Syracuse, KS, the son of Robert and Evelyn Newton Nichols.
He was an elevator manager for Collingwood Grain/ADM for many years, he was also an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
On January 28, 1972, he married Charlotte Nichols in Manter, KS. They later divorced. Other survivors include: his daughter, Chastidy Nichols, Manhattan, KS.; son, Dustin Nichols, Phoenix, AZ; his mother, Evelyn Nichols, Hutchinson; two sisters, Evelyn Louise Tharp, and Raetta Wilson, both of Hutchinson; a granddaughter, Lexie Nichols; aunts, Arlene Nichols, Doris Glasscock, Johnson City, Gae Newton, Hutchinson, and Edna Nichols, Kansas City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, brother, Eldon, and a brother-in-law, Robert Tharp.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, with Pastor Steve Hodgson presiding. There will be a book to sign from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Hutchinson, with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Randall Nichols Memorial Fund, in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
