Events Curtis Alan Scrivner,50, died Saturday.

He was born to Bob and Ruby Scrivner, Oct. 12, 1955. Curt spent his early years growing up on a farm in Stanton County, Kan. After graduating from high school he joined the Marine Corp. He served his country during the Vietnam war proudly. All through his life he continued to support our troops in many different ways. After being discharged with honors Curt spent several years farming with his father and ranching in Colorado. He could tell you of many journeys he took searching for the right place to settle.

During that time he raised two wonderful sons, Robert and Shane. Curt was very proud of both of his boys for their many accomplishments.

Curtis finally found his place to call home in Lima in 1997. He spent the remainder of his life there ranching and guiding hunt trips, his true calling in life.

Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Bob in 1990.

He is survived and missed by many. His mother, Ruby of Manter, Kan.; sons, Robert (Kacie) of Garden City, Kan., Shane of Lima; grandsons, Chase and Zachary of Garden City, Kan.; sisters, Bobbie (Ken) Elliott of Fort Collins, Colo. and Betty Jo (Bruce) Orr of Tyler, Texas; nephews, Marty and Greg Mace; nieces, Ashlen and Lauren Elliott; and many dear friends, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Curt lost the toughest fight he ever had to cancer, in the summer of 2006. He died Saturday, July 22, 2006.

What a strong, brave and proud man he was!

Memorial services are scheduled in Johnson, Kan.
