He is an American former professional basketball player who made notable strides in the sports industry. Brown's sports prowess was evident during his time at Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois, where he was named Illinois Mr. Basketball in 2003. He then went on to play college basketball for Michigan State University.

His professional career started impressively as he was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 25th overall pick in the 2006 NBA draft. His NBA journey led him through different teams from 2006 to 2018, including the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Chicago Bulls, Iowa Energy, Charlotte Bobcats, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Wisconsin Herd, and Delaware 87ers.
