Born on August 24, 1978, in Montgomery, Alabama, Patrick DeWayne Dopson grew up to become a renowned figure in the Gospel music scene. The son of Pastor Gary Dopson and his wife Patricia, leaders of the Christway Church, Patrick's early exposure to faith and music significantly contributed to his future career path.

Patrick Dopson initiated his music career in 2012 with the launch of his album, 'Open the Heavens', released by his own label, Oilonit Music, in collaboration with Central South Distribution. The album made a significant impact and represented his breakthrough moment on the Billboard Magazine's Gospel Albums and Heatseeker Albums charts. One of the notable tracks, "Keep Me", secured a spot in both the WOW Gospel 2013 CD and DVD.

Throughout his career, Dopson has consistently produced heartfelt gospel music that has resonated with audiences. His song, "God Is", successfully peaked at No. 14 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart. In recognition of his talents and dedication, Dopson became the Associate Pastor of Worship for Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, in July 2019.
