About	Shannon Elaine Solberg 9/2/1977 – 11/11/2025 It is with great sadness that we must inform family and friends that our dear daughter Shannon has passed away! She was only 48 years old! As her Parents, we are still trying to grasp with all that has happened. Shannon will certainly be greatly missed! Throughout the last eight years Shannon has been on a rollercoaster battling the various stages of her cancer. She first started her cancer battle at the young age of 40 years old. It has consisted of various treatments including surgeries, chemo, radiation, many CT scans, and MRI’s. She was trying one last effort with her battle with cancer. She had two brain surgeries which she thought would improve her quality of life. Unfortunately, her cancer had metastasized, and she ended up being moved to Community Hospice in Fort Worth, Texas. Shannon was too ill to be moved back to Colorado, and she ended up passing away in Fort Worth. She was cremated at a mortuary in Fort Worth. In Shannon’s short life she had many remarkable achievements! Received two master's Degrees. One in Environmental Health, the other in Public Health. Proudly served our country as a Navy Officer which included two tours to Iraq. (ironically Shannon passed away on Veterans Day) She was employed by Tarrant Country in their Health Department. She was tasked with studying and tracking mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus. Shannon received a Disability retirement from Tarrant County as well as disability compensation from Veterans Affairs.
