| About Me | I'm artist-illustrator, cartoonist, author and entrepreneur living and working in Seattle, Washington, USA. My illustration work has appeared in advertising, book and magazine illustration, greeting cards, posters, tee-shirt designs, and coloring books, and my cartoons have appeared in a variety of magazines. I've created several alternative comic books and had two runs at national syndication of a comic strip. I've taught cartooning in several venues, including a course at the University of South Carolina. I've also done package design (wine, beer and ale labels) and product design work (plush toys, puppets and puzzles) and created a variety of consumer paper products, including party and novelty items. Clients have included Ogilvy & Mather, Western Publishing, Bruce McGaw, Dover Publications, Coleco, Gund, Playboy, Cosmopolitan, Southern Living Magazine and The Saturday Evening Post. I've been fortunate to build a following in the Fine Art market in the Pop Art genre. My writing credits include The Greeting Card Business Manual: A Practical Handbook for the Self-Publishing Entrepreneur and How to Make a Living as an Artist: Practical Strategies for Achieving Financial Security, both published by Serendipity Press. A working artist since 1980, I'm a former principal of CAROUSEL STUDIOS. I formed DMR FINE ART as a publishing vehicle for self-directed creative efforts several years ago. We've published greeting cards, Fine Art prints and posters under our STUDIO 5 imprint, EBooks and seminars under our SERENDIPITY PRESS imprint and will begin publishing graphic novels--CLOSE TO HOME, BRAMBLE and MORGUE--in late 2009 under an as yet unnamed imprint.
