Sgt Alan Carter died in Thua Thien Province, Vietnam on May 28, 1968. He was a combat infantryman serving in Company B, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division. He died of small arms fire just three weeks into his tour.
