As a sophomore at Stadium in 1964 we practiced football with the varsity before school started. We had a tackle practice and I was the object and Phelon was the tackler. He was soooo big. Yikes. I had an opportunity to attend a conference in Washington DC and I visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and placed my hand upon his name. RIP and thanks for your ultimate sacrifice and service.
