| About Me | I married Al Nelson July 83,and we had 3 children, Andrew Mar. 87, Jessica, Sept. 89, Stephanie Mar. 94. They are all swimmers so we have gone to many ,many swim meets over the years and have enjoyed watching the kids accomplish so much and reach their goals. I worked at the Wheel Inn until Feb. 90 and then started my daycare at home, I really love being home with the kids and being my own boss. Many of the kids I watched in the beginning have now graduated high school and that makes me feel really old. Al and I have done some traveling over the years and we are going to Germany Jan 11th to the base Andrew was stationed at to be part of a Memorial dedication they are having for the fallen soldiers, were excited to be going but it will be hard also being there. Our son Andrew joined the Army while he was still in high school, he has always wanted to be a soldier since he was very young and he was living his dream. He left for basic, July, 2005 and graduated Oct, 2005, he got married to Kristi Rewerts Nov 2005 and then left for Schweinfurt Germany Nov 27, 2005, that was the last time we ever saw him. He went to Iraq Oct. 2006 and was there about 2 months when he was killed by an IED along with 2 others on Christmas Day, 2006. The next day was the worsr day of my life, I answered the door when the military came to tell us that our son was killed in action the day before. But God has helped us get through it and has given us the strength we needed to move forward. We are so proud of Andrew and so happy that he was living his dream, how many 19 year olds can say that, he was so focus on what he wanted to do and so excited to start his new adventure in his life, that we could only be happy for him too. The girls are doing pretty good, but think of all the things their brother will miss out on in their lives, but he will always be there with them in spirit. My husband started is own cell phone business in May, 2005 in St. Johns and has really enjoyed being his own boss. We have stayed in St. Johns our whole life and are really glad for that, the community has been great to us and were glad we raised our kids here.
