About	Gregory G. Goenner, age 57 of Athens, Tenn., died unexpectedly Friday, April 14, 2023, at his home. He was born Jan. 23, 1966, in St. Cloud to Dale and Sharon (Kiebel) Goenner. Greg grew up in Clear Lake and was a 1984 graduate of Tech High School, where he participated in football, basketball and track. He graduated from Alexandria Technical College and was employed as a Corporal corrections officer with the McMinn County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Department. Greg is survived by his mother, Sharon Goenner of Clear Lake; wife, Kim of Athens, Tenn.; children, Gabrielle Goenner of St. Cloud and Grant Goenner of Clearwater; and Crystal (Adam) Schrimpsher of Tennessee, John-Wesley (Darlene) Miller of Germany, Brent (Carrie) Miller of Tennessee, grandchildren, Geena, Kiersten, Scarlett, Wyatt, Katniss, Khaleesi, Gabe, Sammy, Hayden and Robbie; and one great-grandchild, gained through marriage but loved as his own; brothers and sisters, Jeff (Deirdre) of Pell City, Ala., Eileen (Bryan) Persike of Rhinelander, Wisc., Brad (Dedi) of Sartell, Amy (Ira) Hopper of Clear Lake; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Goenner; niece, Brynn Persike and step-grandson, Zachary. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 17, at the Goenner Pavilion in Clear Lake.
