About | Schneider, Dean Norbert (“Beano”) Age 69 Dean Norbert Schneider, aka “Beano,” age 69, died peacefully, surrounded by family & friends on Monday, March 25th at his home in Naples, Florida. He had been in remission from small cell lung cancer. Suddenly, and with a vengeance, it came back and metastasized to his brain. He was gone in 2 weeks. Dean loved life. He loved Jesus. He was very patriotic, loving his God, guns & country. He loved sports, especially football and his Minnesota Vikings. He loved music, riding his Harley, deep sea fishing, golfing & politics. He loved his President Trump. He was a phenomenal cook. You couldn’t find a better meal in a restaurant. He loved animals. He fed the ducks, and the stray cats. But, boy, did he love his rabbit, Bugs, that he rescued from under the Trump sign in his yard, back in 2016. Before we left the hospital, Dean said, “I’m gonna miss my rabbit!” He still grieved the loss of our beloved dogs, Sadie & Zoe. I know they had a wonderful reunion. He loved his family and friends. He was the 7th of 12 children, born on July 14, 1949, to Marcellus and Margaret (Studer) Schneider, in St. Joseph, Minnesota. He was married 35 years to Debra Jean (Leapley) Schneider. They were married on June 7, 1983, in Galion, Ohio. He was the father of 2 daughters, Brandy Lyn (Roger) Willis of Tomball, Texas (as Dean and Brandy always said, “not by blood, but by choice”), & Lindsay Racquelle Schneider of Naples, Florida, and 3 grandchildren, Ashley, Roger III, & Christian Willis, all of Tomball, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings, Geraldine (Ed) Dunn of Galion, OH, & Glen (Jan) Schneider of Green Bay, WI. He is survived by 9 siblings: Sister Rose Margaret Schneider of Little Falls, MN; Dennis (Marsha) Schneider of Anel’s camp, CA; Doris (Jim) Goodrum of Hot Springs, AR; Dale (Diane) Schneider of St. Joseph, MN; Sal (Darlene) Schneider of St. Cloud, MN; Margie (Scott) Bjorklund of St. Cloud, MN; Wilma Jean (James) Schwegel of Avon, MN; Noemi (Harry) Aylesworth of Bemidji, MN; and Nita Schneider of St. Joseph, MN. He is also survived by his in-laws, Londell Lash & Margaret Kathleen (See) Leapley of Crestline, Ohio. He was like a son to them, and they were like a second set of parents to him. Schneider, Dean Norbert (continued) Page 2 Dean had a huge personality. People of all ages were drawn to him. He was really smart and had such a quick wit about anything and everything. He could come up with a line from a song or movie instantaneously for any occasion. He had a real sense of humor and could make anyone smile. But, boy, did he have an ornery streak, too. For me, he was my soulmate. He was my guy, the love of my life. We fought hard and loved hard. I have a hole in my heart that is the size of Texas. I will love him with all of my heart, always and forever. We met in Galion and after marrying in 1983, we lived in Rockport, Texas; Arlington, Texas; Lake Delton, Wisconsin; Fort Worth, Texas; and in 1986 we finally settled here in Naples, Florida. He worked at Kountree Kampinn when he first moved to Naples. He then worked at Naples RV for several years. He eventually joined me in my cleaning business 28 years ago and it became DD&L Cleaning Services, his favorite client & friend through the years being Ruven Perelman. Dean had many friends, but was especially close to his beloved brother, Dale; family friend, the late Norm Peterson of Ft. Worth, Texas; and local best friends, Bill Perez, Mike Weatherspoon, Brian Cromer & Tom Gray. A special thank you to Dean’s oncologists, Dr. Steven Newman & Dr. Bruce Nakfoor, who fought so hard to save Dean; to AVOW Hospice, who made his last days as comfortable as they could be, with special mention to Phil Justice, who gave Dean & our family such dignified & compassionate care; to Michael Whyte, from Legacy Options, who has been incredibly kind; to Pastors Josh Perez, Don Tomei & Grant Thigpen for coming and their prayers with us and for him; to Peg, Margie, Sal, Nita, Harry & Noemi, who were able to be here and were so helpful to me in so many ways; to our nephew, Tom Dunn Marsh, who was here in the midst of his own personal tragedies to see his favorite Uncle Dean; to my amazing best friend, Kathy Marsh, who stayed with us the entire time and tenderly nursed Dean 24/7; and to Roger & Brandy, who made the celebration service beautiful, personal & so Dean. Thank you to all the family and friends who came to visit Dean in those last couple of weeks. I love each and every one of you. Dean was cremated in Naples, Florida, at Legacy Options. He and Debbie will be buried together when the time comes in Fairview Cemetery in Galion, Ohio. There will be a celebration service on May 3rd at the Elks Lodge in Galion, Ohio, at 5:00pm for any who can attend. Contact me for details at Debelisha@gmail.com. If you knew Dean, you knew that he hated funerals & memorial services. He didn’t want either. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family at 5235 17th Ave. SW, Naples, Florida, 34116.
