Dennis J. Hahn

Served in the U.S. Army from May 1966 through March 1969. I attended the Officer Candidate School (OCS) and the Armor School at Fort Knox, Kentucky and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant. After OCS I initially served with the 4th Battalion, 35th Armor, 1st Brigade, 4th Armor Division in West Germany – known as the Iron Horsemen. My last duty assignment was as the S-4, Logistics Officer for the 1st Brigade, 4th Armor Division (a Combined Combat Forces Brigade). I was selected as a 1st Lieutenant to serve as the S-4. Also served as the Installation Logistics Officer where I was stationed and interfaced with the local German population. In the fall of 1968 I was selected for special assignment as the Logistics Officer for the Annual 4th Armor Division Tank Gunnery Program.

4 yrs active duty,6 yrs active reserve duty. Stationed on east coast. Served aboard USS Forestall CV-59, USS Independence CV-62, USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72, USS Coral Sea CV-43. Worked as Aviation Boatswains Mate,and obtained the rate of ABE1. Duties involved the launching,and recovery of Aircraft. Involved in Operation Urgent Fury at the Island of Grenada, and operations off Beirut. Was on Carrier duty during start of Operation Desert Storm as Active Reservist Aboard USS Abraham Lincoln. During this time the ship conducted operation of qualifiying pilots.
