Kathryn Sue Sexton, 74, of Springfield, died at 9:15 am, Thursday, October 19, 2017, at her home. She was born November 14, 1942 in St. Charles, IL, to Carl and Mildred (Hadley) Anderson. She married James Sexton and he survives.
Also surviving are her daughter, Melinda (Jerry) Collins of Springfield and son, James (Tammy) Sexton, Jr. of Aurora, four grandchildren, Grant, Sydney, Jace and Jimmy, and one sister, Lesley Gwynne of Tustin, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kathy was a member of Springfield Bible Church. She was a dedicated teacher and enjoyed traveling, baking cookies, and shopping, especially buying clothes for her grandchildren.
Visitation: 4-7 pm Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with additional visitation from 9-10 am, Wednesday, October 25, 2017.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor John Standard officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
