About Me	Hoping to stay settled in Houston for a whilewith Mike, the 3 kids and 2 dogs! I graduated high school from STC back in 97 (as Courtney Russell), followed by Illinois State and then Georgetown for med school. Along the way got married to high school sweetheart, Mike De Jesso. He enlisted in the Navy out of high school, then jumped up to the Naval Academy and was eventually commissioned in the Marine Corps. I jumped on the military thing in med school and was a pediatrician for the Navy for 6 years. We spent 6 years in San Diego where I worked at the great "Balboa" Naval hospital and Camp Pendleton. We moved back to DC where I completed my neonatology fellowship at Georgetown. I'm now figuring out how to balance being a mom with my sometimes grueling work schedule - but I can't think of anything better to be doing than saving those little ones! Mike was a Cobra helicopter pilot while out in Pendleton, deploying three times to combat, twice to Iraq and then once to Afghanistan. He then had the honor of joining HMX, the squadron that flies the President and crew, where he flew the -46, -3 and -60, plus got to travel all over as a white house liason officer. Despite the fun and excitement of HMX, the looming deployments he would have gone back to led him to finish his time with the Marines last fall. He is now back in engineering and has a great new job that is taking us to Houston. We have 2 great dogs, Beau and Zoey, who have been part of the family for the past 10 years - both rescues my parents found in Florida. They have helped me survive the deployments and will always be my first two babies. Our latest excitement has been the additions of our children, James in 2009 and Lucas in 2010 and Victoria in 2013. They have brought me more joy than I could possibly imagine. I continue to be amazed at how smart, funny, happy, and adorable they are everyday. They are by far the best thing I've done in my life. For those of you that know the rest of my fam, here's a brief update: Sister Amanda in arizona as a (master) social worker . Now married to a great guy, Chris. Sister Morgan graduated from the Art Institute in Chicago and is now working in Colorado in the winter and trekking across the nation (and getting paid for it!!) in the summer Brother Kevin graduated high school in Florida and busy working in landscaping. He had a battle with cancer back in '04 but is doing well now! My parents are doing well. They moved to Florida when the GPs became ill and just kinda stayed until they graciously moved near us to help Mike and I out. We love having the kids see them so frequently and it really helps when both Mike and I are working at night! They are busy filling the house, now that we're mostly gone, with dogs - 5 right now, 4 of them rescues, plus the 2 they sent me and many others they've adopted out. Brother-in-law Joe lived in Chicago, where he met his wife Hilary. they have now moved to Atlanta near my in-laws and have given me a sweet little nephew, William.
