About Saundra Sue “Suzie” (Bunnell) Leffel, age 78, passed away at her home in Granville, OH on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. She was born January 12, 1947, in Springfield, Ohio to the late Betty and Richard L. Bunnell.

Suzie graduated from Springfield North High School. Being able to type 120wpm on an old Underwood typewriter, she easily acquired a secretarial position at Wright Patterson Airforce Base, and then transcribing medical dictation at Springfield Community Hospital Medical Records, ending her career as long-time Secretary for Madison Elementary School in Licking Valley (finally, on electric typewriters!).

She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Joseph "Joe" Leffel; two daughters, Michelle (John) Cook and Bethanne Leffel-Ployhar; treasured grandchildren, Alex Rakich, Lindsey Rakich, Brynna Rakich, Abby Cook, Jack (Paige) Cook, Grace Cook and Julian Ployhar, Tristan Ployhar and Farryn Ployhar; siblings, Dave (RuthAnn) Bunnell and Emmalee Amundson; adored nieces and nephews, Derek, Douglas and Andrea Bunnell, Zachary and Rachael Amundson; many other cousins throughout OH, NJ and ID; along with best friend, Kathy Carter Bundy, and her kids, Kelly (Rodney) Hart and Jason (Katie) Bundy. Julian, Tristan and Farryn were instrumental in their grandmother's Alzheimer's care. A special thank you to everyone for their support, including Care360 Hospice and especially, Dottie and Gary Tossi.

Suzie loved her husband, her home, Jesus, babies, her family, her church, her community and the people within. She made everything special, particularly at Christmas. Her house was "The Christmas House." Cooking, baking, decorating and a clean-freak - she made everything sparkle (and nothing was missed).

She was a force. Cute, contrary, and loving; thoughts of her, always brings a smile to one's face.
