About	Norma Jean Hyland, 72, left this world peaceably September 29, 2023. She was born in Springfield, Ohio to Buell and Neva Fitch (Mckenzie), originally from near Paintsville, Kentucky. She was a graduate of Clark State Vocational School before accompanying her husband of 52 years around the world as the ever faithful and adventurous wife of a United States Air Force veteran. In her travels over more than 23 years, she never failed to make friends and give of herself always with a smile and kind a word. The gentle breezes from the Gulf of Mexico accompanied the birth of her first child, Kari. South Carolina allowed her to enjoy the sun and surf with her daughter. Texas enriched her life with many new friends. She utterly fell in love with the gracious people in Italy with whom we shared many meals and holidays. Germany brought out her fun-loving side. Fests and sightseeing was a priority. There, she also enriched the world with a son, Michael. The four of us made Bavaria our second home. In Maryland, we re-connected with many of our friends we had met along the way. It was practically a reunion of coworkers and old acquaintances. She made sure old friendships were rekindled. A part of each day was always devoted to her many friends at the Family YMCA and with her card making buddies. That made every minute special to her. She never failed to spend time with as many of her circle of friends as possible. When given the opportunity, she would always confess that her greatest accomplishment was watching her two beautiful children grow to adulthood with dignity, strength, and living a life well deserved. Daughter Kari Jo possesses the same kindness, determination, love of life as her mother. Son Michael inherited the same love of life being among friends and family. Like his mother, he works hard, is honest and demands the same from his equals. Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Buell and Neva Fitch She is survived by her daughter Kari, son Michael, daughter-in-law Amber Hyland (Shaffer), and her sister, Sharon Kay Fitch. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 5-7pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A celebration of Norma's life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday in the funeral home, with burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
