Served 22 years with the US Army Special Forces (1st, 5th, and 7th Groups), 16 of those years were spent overseas in SE Asia, the Far East and the Caribbean theaters. Served 10 years as BN CSM for a Cadre Unit in the Virginia Guard. Life Member in the VFW for action in Grenada, Panama, and Desert Storm.

I rec'd a Purple Heart for wounds rec'd and now am the Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in Henderson, NV. After serving four years in the Marines, I joined the Illinois Army National Guard and retired as a Major. I held every major staff position in a Transportation Bn and was the Executive Officer when I retired,

David Manson

Major David C. Manson is currently resides in Springfield and serving in Iraq. He is scheduled to return home in late September, 2008. To date, David has 27 years of military service. He is a member of the 932nd Air Firce Reserve based at Scott Air Firce Base.

Served 23 1/2 years in the Air Force. Had three assignments at Det 14 Radar Bomb Scoring Site in Bismarck, ND. Other Radar Bomb Scoring Sites in Germany, Guam, Vietnam. Spent 9 years at our Headquarters of 1st Combat Evaluation Group at Barksdale AFB, Bossier City, LA. Closed Det 14 Radar Bomb Site in 1986 as its First Sergeant and moved it to Forsyth, MT. Retired a year later in 1987 to Mandan, ND.
