About Me	I served 10 years in the United States Marine Corps. During that time I spent 3 years aboard Marine One serving both Presidents Reagan and Bush. I was a USMC Criminal Investigator (CID) and attained the rank of Sergeant. I served in Washington DC, Paris Island SC and Iwakuni Japan for 3 years. I graduated with a BA Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland Asian Division, in Iwakuni Japan. Upon my honorable discharge from the USMC, I was employed by the Iowa State Patrol from 1994 to 2024 where I was promoted to Captain. While serving as an Iowa State Trooper, I was stationed in Oelwein, Ia, I was promoted to Sergeant and was posted in Mason City, Ia. I was promoted to Lieutenant and served as the District 4 Commander in Denison, Ia. I transferred to ISP Headquarters Des Moines, Ia and served as Commander of the Department of Public Safety Fleet and Supply. Then was promoted to Captain and was the Director of the State of Iowa Communication System, 4 Dispatch Centers, the State of Iowa Amber Alert Net Work and the Iowa Statewide Interoperability Communication System. I also created the Iowa State Patrol Statewide Crisis Negotiation Unit. During the five years I lead the four Crisis Negotiation Teams we successfully saved 78 lives. In 2020, I was awarded the first State of Iowa Crisis Negotiator Lifetime Achievement Award. I retired from the Iowa State Patrol in 2024 and now work part time for the Iowa Legislature as an Iowa State Capitol Security Officer. The other half of my...(read more)
