Spiro Band receives honor

The Spiro High School Band has been selected to represent the state of Oklahoma this year in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington, DC on July 4th. That's right!!! Our very own band from the little o'town of Spiro will be representing the entire state of OK at our nation's capitol.

The band boosters and students are currently undergoing a lot of fundrasing right now and we are seeking any donations from all Spiro Alumni. If you would like to donate, please mail payment to: Spiro High School Band, attn: Amy Simmons, Director, 600 West Broadway, Spiro, OK 74959.

There will be 48-students participating in the event and the goal of $50,000 is what it will take to fly the kids out there and back. We are currently just over the half way mark of our goal and will be pushing this month and next for the final amount. All monies will need to be received by May 27th in order to make the final payment deadlilne of June 1, 2010.
