5 days after high school I was in San Diego Ca in boot camp. I spent my time overseas and in Ca and North Carolina. I was a tanker so I got to travel alot. Then I served as a career recruiter in Oklahoma City and then retired in 2005 after 24 yrs of service

Joined delayed entry February 10th 1970. Boot Camp at San Diego CA on June 8th 1970. Infantry Training Regiment Camp Pendleton CA in September of 1970. Finished training in October went to my Aviation training at NAS Memphis for Jet Engine Mech, chose to work on Helicopter Engines. Sent to my first duty assignment and completion of my MOS T58 GE-10 Complete Engine Repair at MCAS(H) New River Squadron HMMT 402 IN February 71. Working on CH46 D/E tandem Rotor Helicopter. January of 72 I was issued orders for a second MOS on the Spectometric Oil Analysis Program and issued orders for Japan but orders Changed to Temporary Duty aboard the USS OKINAWA LPH 3 and duty in Vietnam. Left the ship to complete overseas assignment at MCAS IWAKUNI Japan. Left there in March of 73 for Duty at NAS New Orleans for duty with the reserve Squadron. Reenlisted for 3 years in 74 got my choice of duty to NAS Memphis as an instructor in the Basic Helicopter course (BASHEL) Stayed there until the end of my Enlistment on May 31 1977. Attained the rank of Sergeant.
