About Me	Land of the free, Home of the brave, Let’s keep it that way By Patsy Fleming We, as citizens of these United States of America, are losing our freedom to speak out against those who want to silence us and change our way of life. We censor our own voices for fear of being perceived as politically incorrect. We wear political correctness as a way of life: In our schools, our workplace, and out in public. We must always be careful of what we say; after all, we do not want to offend anyone on the planet, but it is okay for us as American citizens to be the ones offended. America is losing its culture, our freedom of speech and traditions – all for fear of offending anyone. Since our way of life is offensive to other cultures, Americans cannot speak out in the same manner they do, for fear of being labeled racists and hate-mongers. Yet it is this very same way of life – values and work ethic – upon which our great country was founded, and is the reason why so many people flock here. Why are we slowly giving up all of our traditions to make room for the traditions from other countries? Our school system is riddled with political correctness. Our children cannot host a simple Christmas party, much less sing old-fashioned Christmas carols, during the Christmas season for fear of offending others who do not honor the Christian tradition. It is sad to see what our children have to give up in school, as the traditions we celebrated growing up are no longer the traditions our children are permitted to celebrate on public property. Even though Americans citizens are in the majority, we are compelled to accommodate citizens from other countries, and they do not care if they offend us. Bit by bit, our American heritage is eroding, our freedoms are being taken away, and our way of life threatened by the cancer called “political correctness.” We see on the news veterans are told not to fly their American flag at their domicile, and these are the same veterans who fought under that flag of freedom, but now it is that same flag which is deemed offensive. Does anyone even consider that our veterans might be offended by not being allowed to fly the flag under which they fought? Forget about the veterans who fought and died for this country (sarcasm), forget about those military men and women fortunate to come home (more sarcasm), political correctness DEMANDS they take down their American flag. We cannot display our flag at the work place because someone might be offended. We cannot be proud Americans because that would come off as arrogant, but it is okay for others to be proud of their culture, race and way of life, just as long as you are not a born and raised American citizen. Bowing to political correctness is how a country and its citizens lose their identity, culture, traditions and way of life. It is our greatness, as enabled by our constitution, which sets us apart from other countries. We are American citizens; we are not global citizens, or global students, or citizens of the United Nations, but proud Americans. We have a rich heritage and many wonderful traditions that we have enjoyed throughout our history; that is, until the creeping cancer that we call political correctness eked its way into our culture and we became afraid to speak out against anyone for fear of offending someone. If we do not continue to push back and speak out against political correctness, then our way of life will be just another part of our great history, and we will sit around speaking of how life used to be. “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. I want my children to celebrate their traditions in school without worrying if anyone is offended. I do not expect everyone to share the same values and traditions, but to be tolerant of the traditions of this great country. I also want to remind those who moved here; that this is America and though you may come from a different country and culture, Americans should be allowed to continue to enjoy our way of life…We are the Proud Citizens of these United States of America. A strong military is essential 4. Special interests must be eliminated · LBGT comprise less than 3% of the U.S. population · Muslims comprise less than 2% of the population · Why are there Hate Crimes identified? Why is it worse to kill a homosexual than a normal person? 5. Gun ownership is sacred · The Second Amendment does not give us the right to own firearms; rather, the Second Amendment affirms that the government cannot regulate a right that is bestowed upon us by God – namely, that we have the right to live 6. Government must be downsized 7. The national budget must be balanced 8. Deficit spending must end 9. Bailout and stimulus plans are illegal 10. Reducing personal income taxes is a must 11. Reducing business income taxes is mandatory 12. Political offices must be available to average citizens 13. Intrusive government must be stopped 14. English as our core language is required · English should be the national language of the country – this is no different than other countries which ALL have one (or a few, maybe for some small European countries) national language, and all official communications are in this languages only 15. Traditional family values are encouraged this does not make me a racist, this just makes me a patriot Patsy Fleming I do believe that because I have always known who I am and what I stood for, that I was never swayed by political correctness nor white guilt...that is why I never fell for obama's hope and change rhetoric...I didn't cave when they called me a racist, I didn't cave when I lost friends and family because I didn't fall in line like a good lil sheeple...my thoughts were their loss not mine, if they didn't respect me for what I believed in I didn't really need them in my life...life is hard enough without extra hate mongers hidden among the friends and family...
