About Me	Dick Kelly is an avid cyclist and began riding seriously in the fall of 1958 in preparation for the Little 500 at Indiana University. The Little 500 was the catalyst for a life-long passion for the sport of cycling. Considering the commitment and training required for the Little 500 it seemed logical to try racing. Encouraged from friends and family he purchased his first Pro Bike, a Fiorelli with all Campagnolo components. Soon he was racing in races all over the Midwest and East Coast. Dick raced in the Olympic Trials in 1960 and has medaled in the Indiana State Road Championships. He is also a three time Gold Medalist, in both road and track, in the Indiana State Games. Dick's most recent racing was as a member of the United States Team in the 2001 Pan-American Masters Championships in Cuba. Other Cycling accomplishments include co-founding the Speedway Wheelmen Cycling Club in 1960. The Speedway Wheelmen are still operating. In addition, Dick was the Director of the Major Taylor Velodrome from 1993-1996. During his tenure there were five National Championships held at that venue. While running the operations at the Velodrome he earned his certification as a United States Cycling Federation Coach. After 49 years Dick's passion is still as strong as ever, and hopes to ride coast to coast in 2010.
