Michael Scott Zigler ;29, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2009. He grew up and attended high school in Speedway before moving to Las Vegas in 1999 to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he graduated in 2002.
During his career, Mike served as Editor in Chief of The Rebel Yell, News Editor of Las Vegas CityLife and Assistant Director of Communications at MGM Grand. He was also Editor and driving force behind Liberty Watch: The Magazine.
He is survived by his parents, Harold Zigler and Karen Minkner Zigler; brother, Jeff Zigler; grandmother, Mildred Zigler; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial will be held Friday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. at the American Legion (1926 Georgetown Road) in Speedway.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 20, at 4 p.m. at Saint Malachy's Parish (9833 East County Road 750 North) in Brownsburg. A scholarship has been established at UNLV in Mike's name. Contributions may be sent to Deborah Young, UNLV Foundation, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV, 89154-1006.
