| About Me | Here is my bio from my employer's website: Mark O'Keefe Associate Director, Web Publishing mokeefe@pewforum.org Mark O'Keefe brings more than 20 years of newspaper and news service experience to the Pew Forum, where he oversees the website, newsletters and other editorial products, as well as communication with journalists and policymakers. From 2004 to 2006, O'Keefe was editor of Religion News Service, which serves secular and religious media subscribers. Prior to that, he was a national correspondent for Newhouse News Service in Washington, covering values and philanthropy. Mark covered Congress for The Oregonian for a year and also spent five years in Portland as the newspaper's religion and social issues reporter. He was the lead reporter chronicling Oregon's groundbreaking experiment with physician-assisted suicide and in 1998 traveled to China, Burma, Pakistan, Egypt and Sudan for his series "Christians Under Siege," which won several awards, including an Overseas Press Club award for best human rights reporting. Earlier in his career, he held religion, city government, education and sports beats at The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Va. and was the Wisconsin broadcast and sports editor at United Press International in Milwaukee.
