Daniel "Danny" Maldonado, a beloved father, partner, and friend, danced his way into the hearts of everyone he met. He took his final bow on June 4, 2026, at Saint Mary's Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family and friends after a brave battle with cancer. Born on May 7, 1956, at Saint Mary's, Danny was the joy of his parents, Robert L. Maldonado, Sr. and Maria Aguilar Maldonado. He spent his career as a truck driver for the Washoe County Road Department, retiring in 2002, but his true journey was in the love he shared with those around him. Danny’s spirit shines on in his partner, Eileen Maldonado, his son Nicolas, and his daughter Julia Vernon (married to Mike), along with his cherished grandchildren Andrea and Riece Vernon. He also leaves behind his brother Robert L. Maldonado, Jr., and three more wonderful grandchildren: Stacie, Jamie, and Casey. His family tree extends to his niece Kristina Williams (and her husband Michael) in Oklahoma, along with many other nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by brother John Joseph (Joey) Maldonado, sister Dora Lynn Maldonado and his faithful canine companion Caesar. A proud graduate of Sparks High School, class of 1975, Danny was a devoted San Francisco 49ers fan, but his true passion lay in music. He had an impressive collection amassed from thrift stores that could rival any record shop, with the Beatles always holding a special place in his heart. Known for his thoughtfulness, compassion, and generosity, Danny was the neighbor everyone could count on. He loved lending a helping hand and brightening the days of those around him. Join us in celebrating Danny’s vibrant life at Walton Funeral Home on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The address is 1745 Sullivan Lane, Sparks, NV, and you can reach them at (775) 359-2210. Let’s gather to share stories, laughter, and the love that Danny so freely gave to all.
