About	https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/202673756/carla-jeane-granata Carla (Griener) Granata passed away peacefully in her home in the early hours of November 21, 2017, surrounded by her loving family after a very courageous battle with cancer over the past 4 1/2 years. Carla was born to Rudy and Roberta Griener (deceased) in Alturas, California on April 19th, 1954. She, her parents, her sister Margaret, and two brothers Bill and Dave moved to Reno, Nevada in 1961 where Carla continued to live throughout her life. She graduated from Sparks high School in 1972 where she was a barrel racer on the high school rodeo team. Later she became a team roper for 20 years where she entered many jackpot rodeos around the Northern Nevada area. She married Gary Granata on May 13th 1978. Together they had three beautiful sons, Casey (deceased), Chance, and Dustin. Carla was an extremely active person, whether it be riding her horses, immersing herself in her children's many activities, taking up a new crafting project, or just being Carla with her many friends and relatives. "Suck the juices out of life before life sucks the juices out of you" is how Carla lived her life. She embraced life, friends, and family with every ounce of energy she had in her beautiful body. We thank the lord for giving Carla a one way ticket to Caseyville Heaven where he's been waiting for her for 29 years. They are now in each others loving arms for eternity. Carla was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, older brother Bill, and her loving son Casey Leigh. She is survived by her husband Gary, her two loving sons Chance and Dustin, Her sister Margaret, brother Dave and his wife Lynn and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including her special sister in law Yvonne Griffith. There will be a service at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, 3835 Lakeside Dr, Reno, NV at 2pm on Saturday, December 2. There will be a reception immediately after, location to be announced. The family would like to thank Dr. Lim, his staff at Renown. Carla's friend Brandy Griggs (Landa) and her staff at the Renown infusion center. Maurine, Dawn, and Sam, and all other staff at St. Mary's Hospice for their wonderful care.
