About Me BIO Jazz One is a renaissance man. "Mixing modern music with the classics is his M.O., and he has become a popular DJ in the Austin area as a result." -AOL/Spinner "Local DJ and poet, Jazz One, creates old school/now school fusion of always danceable party beats." -RealPopolio Austin's finest, Jazz One WILL make you wiggle. As a DJ he is a true mixologist. Jazz One is a party rocker. Over the years he has shared stages with a diverse range of Hip Hop, Indie and Electro artists such as Dan Deacon, Pigeon John, Asher Roth, Blaqstarr, Killah Priest, U-God, Pac-Div, The Cool Kids, DJ Class and C Rayz Walls. 2007 saw the release of the One to the Dome mixtape. In 2009 Jazzie started the One Take Mixtape series. Jazz One collaborated with Fifth Gallery, Off Shoot Media and Austin's best MC's to turn the One Take Mixtape into a mult-media event. Jazz One released MEGA in 2011 as a mixtape dedication to his fiancé who passed away. Jazz's mixtape ♛♛♛ was inspired Jay-Z and Kanye's Watch the Throne. It is a mix of tracks from Watch the Throne and previous collaborations. After years of playing un-official shows during the South by Southwest music festival with local, regional and national acts, Jazz One played SXSW in 2010 and 2011 as an official showcasing act.  In 2012 Jazz One played The Fader magazine event called the Fader Fort along with Santigold, 2 Chainz, Danny Brown, Big K.R.I.T., The Dream, SBTRKT, Rick Ross and more. "Jazz One is a powerful and intense performer who draws on life's experiences with themes of hope and survival" Brian Buckley (Innisfree) Jazz One is not a rapper, he's a poet with good self esteem. Jazz's poetry was featured in Eric Power's film,  'Night People: Seize the Night'. The film was awarded Best Experimental Film at the Traildance Film Festival. Jazz One has been featured at the Austin International Poetry Festival and West Texas' Forest Fest. Jazz's spoken word performances have been included in Channel Austin's televised poetry showcase. Jazz has been performed his work in non-traditional venues for poetry such as rock and hop hop shows. 2007 Jazzie's poetry was been featured on a Hip Hop album from the Fresh Boy Crew.
