| About Me | Legal Secretary in Miami for 8 years; married in 1967; daughter born in 1972; invested in property in NC; moved to NC in 1975 opening an antique shop on the Broad River in the mountain foothills of Asheville; worked for Mastercraft Corp. 18 years in the billing dept. and became an Administrative Secretary; raised our daughter who was very active in Girl Scouts, ballet, tap, baton, singing & guitar lessons; cheerleading; for several years daughter was in local beauty pageants and at 5 yrs. old she was Little Miss Rutherford Co.; she also competed in the Junior Miss Rutherford Co. pageant; I took Real Estate courses; fitness swimming; clogging at local college. 1990 daughter graduated from high school and went to Florida State University graduating in 1994 with a degree in Merchandising. I changed jobs around 1991 and worked 16 years for Rutherford-Polk-McDowell District Health Dept. as the Environmental Health Sec'y. and doing work for Administration doing Accounts Payable. My health deteriorated with spinal stenosis and degeneration of the lumbar. I had a spinal fusion in 2007. Did rehab for 8 mon. In Dec., 2007 when I turned 62 I fell and fractured my left arm. It was time to retire. So back to therapy I went for 7 months, I was having neck pain and couldn't get it under control, in July, 2008 back to the hospital for surgery. This was a cervical lamination where the spine was decompressed. Finally no more pain. I am retired and devoted to my husband, daughter and parents who are both 86 yr. with problems and they need me so I make trips to see them in Key Largo when they need me. My husband lost his brother in 2006, then his father passed in 2008, and his mother in 2010. They lived in NC so we were very close to them. My daughter is now 39 and lives in Charlotte. She has not married. She has been goal oriented all her life and never has found the right man to marry. She may have finally found the right person for her and go figure he is a lot like my husband. At present my goal is lose weight, strengthen my body muscle, and make good memories with family and friends. Taking one day at a time, and make each one count.
