About	Charles Gary Benjamin, Jr., 55, of Plainfield, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 surrounded by his close family and friends. Charlie was born on November 30, 1967 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Charles Gary Benjamin, Sr. and Geneva (Farmer) Froedge. He was known by many names, including Charlie, Sparky, and Chuck. He was a graduate of Southport High School, class of 1986. Charlie was a US Air Force veteran; he served for eight years as an aircraft armament specialist, where he completed tours overseas in both Saudi Arabia and Korea before being honorably discharged in 1997. With an inquisitive and mechanically-inclined mind, he spent his time working in various roles, from lawn care business owner to pizza delivery driver before settling down as a repair technician with the 8615 Home Depot Repair & Liquidation Center for the last 11 years, where he repaired lawn mowers, string trimmers, and hand tools. He loved figuring out how things worked and could often diagnose a mechanical problem with a car just by listening to it. He was known for his unique sense of humor, contagious smile, artistic nature, and passion for animals and the outdoors. With his calm, kind presence, he made friends everywhere he went. He truly lived life to its fullest. As a loving and devoted father of two children, Morgan Benjamin Heim and Megan Renee Roy, he dedicated much of his life to them and was very proud of each of their accomplishments. Charlie is survived by his daughters, Morgan Heim (Taylor) and Megan Roy (Kody); his birth mother, Geneva Froedge (Charles); his step-mother, Betty Benjamin; his “pops,” Mike McFarland; his sisters, Pamela Benjamin, Tina Hopkins Russell, and Angela Mesch (George); his significant other, Kim Roch Tidler; his dog, Reesey; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held for Charlie Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm at Bradford Place Clubhouse, 5810 Bradston Way Indianapolis, Indiana 46237.
