I looked on the donor site and see that you all did get the board on last year. So glad the God blessed the Art Dept again!
Some of the Class of 80 along with some 76 Alum will be at the school on Friday, Nov 9th for a Feed the Football Team Outreach. Drop by the basement around 2:30 pm if you get the chance.
We also pray the Infocus Projector is blessing the school!
And please let me know if we can be of help in the future to the school?

Help Perserve Our History!
We have bits and pieces of our history from the past art classes here at South Oak Cliff High. We need help from alumni who can share photos and information on how the art department was like in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. If you attended South Oak Cliff High in the years mentioned above and have photos and information about the art department that you would like to donate or share with us please contact Mrs. Hollenstein or Ms. Chaney ( SOC Librarian) or send to our school at South Oak Cliff High/Art Department/3601 Marsalis Ave./Dallas, TX 75216-5900. This would be most appreciated. All photos and information that is used in the scrapbook will not be returned and will become the property of South Oak Cliff High school. This scrapbook when completed will be remain in the library for all to enjoy. Let's get scrapbooking.

Dear Class of 1980 and Ms. Amy,
Thank you, for supporting the arts in our school. We are thrilled to be receiving this projector. We will be able to do lessons that are for college readiness. We will be able to put the outdated AV overhead away. You will open so many dreams for these young people. Many career opportunities will follow these dreams. Alumni Class of 80 "Giving Back Outreach"...
The Class of 80 will be donating a new Projector to the Art Department at our Alma Mater in this new year!
Ms. Hollenstein (Art Teacher @ SOC) is so thrilled and very grateful for our desire to help and support the students at SOC. They really need our help.
We want to thank those Alumni that have decided to freely give and support this cause of giving back to the school that gave to each of us!
If interest in being a part of supporting this cause
There will also be a meeting on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11 am @ SOC parking lot.
We will also present a plaque on behalf of the Alumni of the Class of 80 and have the names of everyone that contributed listed on it. Hopefully if you visit the school, it will be displayed for all to see. :)

2012 Fabulous 50th Birthday Cruise "Class of 80"

Registration is now available for the 2012 Fabulous "50th" B-day Cruise. The date is April 28, 2012. The Group rate on double occupanc-.Inside cabin cost per person is $484.37(only). Oceanview and balcony cabin prices are between $549-654 is now available.

Projector for 2010-2011 Art Department

Yes, I want to adopt a classroom.
Let me introduce myself. I'm Mrs. Hollenstein, the art teacher at South Oak Cliff High school. The student's in the art room need a projector to use with the art program. We are presently working with out dated equipment and need the help of the SOC alumni family. We know that students learn best when the community works together toward helping them achieve their highest potential. I'm asking the alumni family to help support the art program by visiting www.adoptaclassroom.org and help donate to our class for this projector. Teacher's spent an average of $1,200 of their own money each year purchasing materials for their class. All donations are tax-deductible. No donation is too small. .

80 Christmas Musical success!
The Christmas Musical was a big success as a fundraiser for our 30th Reunion! Held in Lancaster on December 12th, we sang Christmas and songs of Zion with our newly formed "Golden Voices" Choir, under the direction of Bro. Victor McCray. Gwen Mosely was our Mistress of Ceremony keeping the spirit of God flowing. God truly blessed as the Choir was off the CHAIN! Jackie Washington Snow's Church Praise Team blessed us with songs of praise. Michael Freeman's daughter presented a violin solo, and Amy Jones Lee-Coleman's Community Dance Ministry ministered the word of God through dance. We thank God for how he has kept us in His care over the years and continues to give us the opportunity to give Him praise...
