| About Me | My favorite word has been and continues to be "motivation." It's what drives someone to move in a specific direction and in a certain way. Successful people tend to be highly motivated. I was always motivated to do my very best. My interest in teaching came from my days as a junior Boy Scout leader. But early in life my success did not come easily and I struggled to reach my goals. In the end, I was the first person in my immediate family to earn a 4-year college degree and to earn a doctorate. Personally, what is the source of my motivation? I believe that it came from my parents and from my Pennsylvania German forbearers who exhibited an extraordinary amount of motivation and determination when they immigrated from Europe to Pennsylvania more than 200 years ago. What helped me at Bloomsburg were the many people during my 28 years here, including students, colleagues, and administrators, who were a very cooperative and supportive.
