| About Me | After I graduated from high school, I enlisted in the Air Force, where I worked as an electronic systems specialist. While in the Air Force, I was seriously injured in a car accident, which resulted in my being honorably discharged, and retired due to a service-connected injury. Shortly thereafter, I began attending the University of Louisville pursuing a degree in psychology. While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I took on disability advocacy. To further my efforts as a disability advocate, I decided that I would attend law school. After I graduated from undergraduate school in 1990, I then attended the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. I graduated from the Brandeis School of Law in 1995. I then became active with the Louisville Metro Disability Coalition, a nonprofit organization that conducts disability advocacy. I was the president of that organization for nearly 10 years, before stepping down from that position. After a few years away from the MDC,I now serve as Vice-President of that organization. I also worked simultaneously as a circuit court staff attorney in Jefferson Circuit Court here in Louisville. In circuit court, we deal with civil actions greater than $5,000 and felony criminal offenses. We are also the appellate court for Jefferson District Court, and several administrative agencies.
