I was deeply saddened to reflect on the loss of our classmate, Kenneth “Kenny” Hartwick, who passed in 1993 while serving in the United States Navy. Kenny was someone you couldn’t help but remember—kind, steady, and genuine. Those of us who knew him at Southern High School knew we were in the presence of a good soul, and his dedication in service to our country only deepened the respect we had for him.

Kenny is missed, but he is certainly not forgotten. His memory lives on with our Class of ’76 and with all who honor the sacrifice he made.
