Kelly Malloy (Dempsey)
Class of 1992
Kelly Malloy is the youngest, and first woman to be elected to Fernley, NV city council.
Malloy said following the announcement of her win, "I am honored and humbled that the voters of Ward 1 selected me to voice their issues on the City Council, and I plan on representing the residents of Fernley with honesty and integrity. And, I will never forget who I work for."
Malloy indicated during the campaign her priorities are fiscal responsibility, public safety and maintenance of city parks and streets. She has been critical of the high cost of the Water Treatment Plant and criticized city staff for not seeking grants to cut down construction costs.
Malloy also indicated she would eliminate what she called wasteful public spending and advocated for oversight on the city manager's office.
