Passing of James Kelly class of 61

James Kelly Jr., 73, died 02/05/16 in his home in Hernando. James was born in Milan TN and grew up in Memphis, graduating from Southside high in 1961. He was proud of the Sharpshooter rifle designation he earned in the Army. He was a lifelong Cardinals baseball fan and loved everything about cars.

James was preceded in death by his parents Avonelle and James and his ex-wife Vernita. He’s survived by his son Paul, grandsons Brendan and Grant, sisters Dee Yarbrough and Barbara Clifton, and brother Danny Todd.

Family and friends are invited to a service on Friday, 02/12 at 1:00pm at Serenity Funeral Home, 1632 Sycamore View. A gathering will be held 2:00-4:00pm at Amerigo’s restaurant, 1239 Ridgeway. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made to the Mid-South Food Bank. Condolences may be left at serenityfuneralandcremationmemphis.com.

Lois Black

Mrs. Lois Black (Nunn) class of 1953 went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2012. She was the widow of James Nunn who was tragically killed by a train in 1969. She remained a widow until her death. She is survived by 2 of her 3 children: Tanya Nunn Allen and Steven Nunn. Her son Ronald Nunn passed away in 2008. She also leaves 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
