About	aren Sue (Shopoff) Malone Foltz, 66, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Karen was born May 16, 1949 in Fort Wayne, IN, to Benny N. and Neva Louise (Lovely) Shopoff. Graduate of South Side High School class of 1967. She worked at Longe Optical for almost 20 years, and retired from the Federal Government Defense Logistics Agency in 1992. Her greatest joys were her son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. Her hobbies were puzzles of any type, reading, cruising, and snorkeling. She is survived by son Marc (Dionne) Malone of Fishers, IN; grandchildren Ryan (Katie) Malone and Kylee Malone both of Fort Wayne, IN, Sam Malone and Arianna Wityshyn of Fishers, IN; great-grandchildren Emma and Cullen Organ, Riley Riser and Hudson Malone all of Fort Wayne. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Janice (Bob Bruce) Foltz and Lesley (Dave) Myers; brother-in-law Ted (Becky) Malone. In addition to her son Marc Malone, lifelong friend Sue Gongwer; cousin Linda Dandurand, friends; Joyce Dunkle and Cindi Walter were her anchors in good and bad times. She was preceded in death by her parents Benny Nick and N. Louise Shopoff, first husband Phil Malone (1967-1986) after 19 years of marriage, and second husband David E Foltz (1998-2009) after 11 years of marriage, and great-grandson Cooper Jayden Malone. She felt blessed to get a second chance with the love of her life who taught her to laugh again. Her valiant struggle with Crohn's Disease and all the side effects incurred since diagnosed in 1970, has been an inspiration by all who knew her. One can overcome all of life's hardships with determination and love from family and friends. Funeral Service is Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm at D. O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling one hour prior. Rev. David Mitchell officiating. Calling will also be Saturday, August 22,2015 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America.
