Sarah Michele Meske
Class of 2007
After graduating from South Side High School, Sarah moved to Southern California where the majority of her family lives. There she attended CSU Channel Islands where she double majored in Art and Psychology before deciding to keep switch her major in Art to a minor. She graduated in 2011 with a 3.5 GPA and BA in Psychology and minor in Art. During her last year at the university, Sarah experienced a personal crisis which lead her to faith in Jesus Christ and to take the practice of her faith seriously.
For the next few years, Sarah would spend time unlearning and relearning new behavior patterns and thought processes and took odd jobs where she could find them while she worked on discovering what she wanted to do as a career. In 2015, Sarah applied to Azusa Pacific University, to begin her pursuit of becoming a School Counselor. With a lifelong love of children and education she felt it fit perfectly and matched her skill sets and abilities. She would graduate with honors, a 4.0 GPA, and received recognition as being a graduate student representative for the first year of the Graduate Programs Student Government Association in 2017.
Upon graduation, she was offered a position in Ridgecrest, CA where she worked at a high school and middle school teaching social-emotional learning skills to students. After a year, she resigned from her position after she found it was not the best fit for her and took another School Counselor position in Lancaster, CA the following school year as a full time Middle School counselor.
“I greatly enjoy working for LANCSD and I have grown exponentially both personally and professionally.”
