I spent 4 years in the Navy, then went to the University of Oregon where I got my B.A., was accepted to Graduate School, got married to Charlotte Castillo, a Hawaii girl of Filipina ancestry and a graduate of Willamette University in Salem. I was awarded a 4-year NDEA scholarship, got my M.A., at the U of O, returned some of the scholarship for an Assistantship teaching French at the University of Washington, did that for a year, went to Hawaii over the summer, was hired to teach French and Spanish at James Campbell High School...(read more) |
