Transferred to the United States Navy and spent the next 16 years stationed at VR-24 Det Naples, Italy; Vietnam (3 tours), HC-2 Lakehurst, NJ, USS Forrestal, USS Shangri-La, VX- Key West, FL; HM-12 NAS Norfolk, VA; HM-14 NAS Norfolk, VA

Entered the U.S Air Force upon graduation from SRHS and after 6 years of active duty switched to U.S. Navy. Most of military service was either a flight engineer or search and rescue crewman.

After graduating joined. After basic training at Great Lakes, Il. Electronics Technician School. Additional schools for Weapons Systems including Drone Helocopters. Served aboard Destroyers, Attack Transport and Destroyed Tender. Vietnam 1962, 64 and 66. Provided critical gunfire support. Went around the earth. Discharged in 1967. Naval Reserve for 17 years. Retired in 1991.

Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division @ Fort Bragg, North Caroina and 173rd Airborne Brigade (Separate) in The Central Highlands of South Viet Nam. Engagements included The Battle of Dak To, Ban Me Thout, Kontum, Pleiku, Tuey Hoa North and Bong Son.

Then sent to Navy Exchange School in Brooklyn NY for 3 months. Specialty was Office in charge of Retail and Commissary in the Navy. Assigned to USS Guam in 1964 to 1966. This was a new ship and I had the distinction of being 1 0f 52 Officers becoming a plank owner. In 1966 I became the exchange officer at the Navy Exchange in Key West Florida. After my active duty discharge, I served in the Navy Reserves for an additional 4 years. Served during the Vietnam conflict.
