| About Me | After graduation, I enrolled at Lincoln Land Community College. To help pay for college, I accepted a part-time Office Assistant position in the credit union at IFDA in Springfield. I worked there until 1994. On December 11, 1993 I married my boyfriend of 4 years, Robert Beloit, in a small ceremony at the Kincaid Baptist Church. In 1994, I accepted another Office Assistant position at Preferred Plastic Sheet in Taylorville & worked there until 1996. In 1996, I finally graduated from LLCC with an Administrative Assistant A.A.S. Degree & accepted a position in my field of study with LLCC at the Taylorville Correctional Center. I held this position for approximately 8 months when LLCC decided not to renew its contract with corrections & I was laid-off in 1997. In 1997, I drew unemployment until I accepted an Administrative Secretary position with Lin Engineering in Chatham where I only worked for 2 weeks before accepting another Office Assistant position with Spartech Plastics formerly Preferred Plastic Sheet. In 1998, I found a poor little mutt at Casey's in Kincaid & brought him home to live with us. He had a very hard start in life that wasn't over until we finally got him cured of Parvo, but he made it through & is now one of the family. We named him Casey. Shortly after starting with Spartech, I accepted the Inventory Control position there & stayed in this position until Spartech closed the Taylorville plant in 2005. In 2004, after being told that we would not be able to have children, Robert & I welcomed our miracle baby, Bailey Mason, into our lives. After Spartech, I took advantage of federal aid & returned to LLCC to complete courses to complement my degree. I worked from home as an Independent Agent for a couple years until I decided to devote all of my time to my son & home. Being blessed with a son was wonderful & we thought that he would be our only child, but shortly after we gave up trying to have another, we were blessed once again with a mirac...(read more) |
