Joe was Co Captain of the SHS 1949 football team. He later played at Notre Dame and Louisiana State University.

Joe and I met in grammar school. We became best friends and remained that way for close to 80 years! We shared many adventures growing up and throughout our lives! Talented, humble, honest, loyal and often very funny. He made many friends in life and those who remain miss him, as I do. Rest in peace, Joe. I will look for you at our next reunion. Neil MacNevin
