About	DECEMBER 11, 1945 – APRIL 22, 2015 Mary Ann (Tappen) Ferreira, age 69, of Fall River, was reunited with the love of her life James “Jimmy” Ferreira on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. She is now eternally dancing with her sweetheart. Born in New York, New York, a daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Maikisch) Tappen, she spent her youth in New York before moving to Massachusetts over fifty years ago. A graduate of Somerset High School, class of 1963, she received her associates degree from Bristol Community College and her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the former S.M.U. now UMASS Dartmouth in 1988. She worked as a Crisis Clinician at Corrigan Mental Health Center for many years before retiring in 2013. She also worked part time at SSTAR as a counselor. She was a passionate advocate for those dealing with mental illness and substance abuse. An avid reader, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She will truly be missed by her two dogs Sasha and Dexter. She is survived by two daughters: Anne Marie and her husband Richard Durand, Janice Botelho all of Fall River, two step-daughters: Sheila Souza and her husband Michael of Tiverton, RI, Shelly Dos Vais of FL, four siblings: Robert and Michael Tappen both of FL, Lynda Levesque and her husband Joseph of Fall River, Stanley Tappen Jr., and his wife Grace of VA, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Theresa A. Manchester.
